Roll up the devices and checks behind a business service into a single health score.
Most tools monitor devices; service monitoring tells you whether a business service is healthy. Define a service — "SAP Production", "Email", "Online Store" — from the things it depends on, and PingIQ rolls their current status into one weighted health score.
How it works
- Add components to a service: any device, interface, or API/WMI/SSH/script/hypervisor monitor
- Give each a weight, and flag the ones that are critical (their failure forces the whole service critical)
- The service shows an overall health % and status, computed live from its components
Why it helps
On-call sees impact, not just incidents: one glance tells you SAP is degraded because the database node is down — rather than scanning a wall of individual device alerts.
